Why one room may stay hot
Return-air limitations
Air must have a path back to the system. Closed doors and inadequate returns can create pressure and comfort problems.
Heat gain
Large windows, poor insulation, attic heat, and afternoon sun can load one room more heavily than the rest of the home.
System performance
Low airflow, coil problems, refrigerant issues, or incorrect equipment sizing can make temperature differences worse.
What we can check
We evaluate the system’s operation and visible airflow conditions, compare room temperatures, and look for practical improvements. Depending on the cause, the answer may be a repair, duct correction, return-air improvement, balancing adjustment, or equipment recommendation.
Closing several supply registers usually does not solve the problem and can increase system pressure. It is better to find the actual airflow restriction.
